On the morning of July 10, 2021, 24 51Give volunteers held the marine scientific research monitoring and the ‘Protect the Ocean, Clean the Beach’ activity at Tangshan Harbor Development Zone.
Volunteers gathered and signed in at the lobby of Ruijingwan Hotel at 8:00 am. The team leader, Mr. Fu Biao provided a training for volunteers before the beach cleaning. He explained the coastline survey methods, beach cleaning procedures, safety precautions, marine garbage classification methods and record requirements.
Then the volunteers came to Xiangyun Bay, Mr. Fu Biao led them to take the volunteer oath before the beach cleaning. He divided the volunteers into five groups and appointed five experienced team leaders to lead their groups in coastline survey and marine garbage collection.
The volunteers sorted, weighed and recorded after collecting the garbage. They cleaned up a total of 102.28 kg marine garbage and transported it to the garbage station for classification and recycling.
Although the weather was hot, the volunteers were enthusiastic about protecting the marine environment. Finally, they successfully completed the task at 11:00 am. Every volunteer who participated in today's beach cleaning activity received the volunteer certificate.
